Hi, I'm Norm,
aka Sagely Fox, aka aegiswiz. I'm a retired polymath with wide eclectic interests and too many skill sets to politely list.
If you landed here you likely ran across the side effect of one of my avocations: reading, for example. My interests are like my skill sets. Few things don't interest me.
Politics is another pass time that would best be left ignored, if only for peace of mind, but I tend to write about it, usually on social media I'm not banned from. I strongly advocate thinking.
The Sagely Fox blogs are all subtitled, Watching, Thinking, Learning. By doing this I've discovered that nearly every belief I've ever believed was, at least for some time, based on smoke and mirrors.
What I learned growing up, in schools, colleges, universities, jobs ad infinitum, is that it is a bad idea to believe anything you haven't researched yourself at great length, then suspected all your sources were in error. If my long life experience is similar to average folks, I fear what you believe may also be worth rethinking. No matter what it is. Think about it.

Here is where I've long been most consistent in expressing my thoughts on what I've read. Reviews? Babbling? I have over several decades developed an opinion about review spoilers, review ratings, and "recommendations". In short, ignore everything except "recommended" or "not recommended".

I have large "Lifetime" pcloud account. It has a "Public Folder" to share files. I've converted it into a clean HTML website. That is where the Reading Classics (give away) files are stored. Zipped Public Domain Classic audiobooks and e-books. The home page on that quasi website is the current year's list of reviews -- how I wish they appeared in blogs that I can't control. BTW, I hear some virus programs don't like it there. To the best of my knowledge (and I hand code everything in rather simple html) there's nothing nasty there. No virus, trojan, cookies or ads.

I've all but abandoned this WordPress site. To me, posting anything on WordPress is complicated and extremely time-consuming. I'd rather pick my nose than struggle with a few words no one reads anyway.I'm on Bookbub
This is another site I rarely post to. I like them well enough, but I'm unfamiliar with their posting rules, and they have blocked me posting a review more than once.

I no longer do reviews at LibraryThing or keep up the TinyCat Library... For avid readers I do recommend spending time there. They are potentially a great community and unlike Goodreads, no Amazon influence. (That's a good thing.)

I intentionally will not post a review about anything on Amazon. I think about reviews carefully and don't write them arbitrarily. So they take time. More than half my reviews are "refused" by Amazon. They don't say why, and I would not have posted one if I thought it an unfair, or dishonest review, so obviously something is amiss between Amazon and me.
I will post a review there upon request of an author. It won't be the review you read, if you're that author, but it will be rated the same.
